Sinningia speciosa also called as Gloxinias are perennials and are native to Brazil. They are tuberous rooted plants – that is they are plants growing from a tuber. Gloxinias should be kept in shade during afternoons. In fact it is better to place them in such a way that they either get morning Sun or evening Sun. They can also be grown indoors with sufficient light. Basically they grow well in shade and should be kept away from harsh Sun. Water regularly keep the soil moist but it should be well drained. They can be grown from stem cuttings, division or from seeds. They can be easily grown from Leaf cuttings, Stem cuttings, Division and Seeds  note that, it takes about seven months to flower once the seeds germinate.  The seeds need sunlight to germinate. The primary nutrients of a plant are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (N-P-K). Its a good practice to either add organic fertilizers rich in N-P-K or use a fertilizer solution with strength 5-10-5.
