Tradescantia pallida is also called as wandering Jew or purple secretia, purple-heart or purple queen. It is a species of spiderwort. This plant grows well in Full Sun or partly shade. If kept in complete shade the color fades and in colder climates the plant may die. The flowers are small pink/lavender in color. The leaves are purple. Do not over water. It does well in well drained soil. And is drought tolerant. This plant is invasive if not kept in control. It can be used as ground cover in Sunny areas. Tradescantia pallida purple queen  is a perennial plant. This plant was observed by Edward Palmer and the plant is native to  the Gulf Coast region of eastern Mexico. It is propagated easily by cuttings. According to one study Tradescantia pallida is effective at improving indoor air quality by filtering out volatile organic compounds, a class of common pollutants and respiratory irritants, via a process known as phytoremediation. Phytoremediation refers to the natural ability of certain plants called hyperaccumulators to bioaccumulate, degrade,or render harmless contaminants in soils, water, or air.
